Opaque Acrylic Gist Fountain Pen

from 99.00

One of the new options is whether you want a black clip or a silver clip. The silver clips are the same tumbled and polished finish found on all of our other pens.

I’m sorry, we are already out of stock of the titanium Extra Fine nibs, and we are running low on the Fine nibs. I’ve put in an order, but it will be February before we get more titanium nibs in stock.

Acrylic - acrylic has been used in fountain pens for a very very long time. It’s actually harder than the old Gist fountain pens made from Polycarbonate, so it should resist scratches quite well for a plastic. These are opaque, not clear. They are sent out just as they come off the machine. We do no additional polishing. It’s actually a really cool finish because you see the details of how things fit together.

Updates to the Gist fountain pens:

  • Longer bodies that accomodate the standard international converters. This extra length also makes the pens fit better in most hands and makes the pens a little more proportional.

  • Higby thread starts for the caps. This is a machinist term, but in essence, it means there isn’t a partial thread and so initial engagement feels better and it is a stronger thread.

  • 1.5 turns to open and close. The original Gists were closer to 3, and it was a bit much.

  • Plastic internal part for the metal pens so they post more securely and avoid metal on metal contact.

Weight - 0.62 ounces or 17.6 grams
